APPEARANCE : Backhousia myrtifolia (commonly referred to as carrol, neverbreak, iron wood, grey myrtle or cinnamon myrtle) is a small rainforest tree species which grows in subtropical rainforests of Eastern Australia. A hardy, small, bushy, evergreen tree with shiny, dark green leaves and clusters of fluffy, white flowers in summer. Cinnamon Myrtle leaves may be used in place of conventional cinnamon spice to flavour curries, stews, soups, roasts, ribs and sauces.
