APPEARANCE : Carissa spinarum is most often found in semi-arid coastal areas of the tropical regions around the Indian Ocean, on fine-textured soils such as clays and clay-loams.Prickly shrub with milky sap. Leaves opposite to 4cm Paired spines between leaf basas. 5-petalled perfumed white flowers to 10mm in summer. Edible, oblong, black fruits to 15mm.
