Dogs Balls Grewia latifolia
APPEARANCE : Grewia latifolia is a small shrub that is endemic to Northern and Eastern Australia. Its fruits have a distinct similarity to dog testicles, giving rise to the common name of dogs balls. Grewia latifolia is supplied as a dried fruit with several seeds within each. The fruit are simplest to harvest after the season has finished, when plants are dry and leafless. The berries are a very thin layer of really delicious fruit surrounding the round hard seeds. The fruit tastes like sweet smoky apple cinnamon, some folks say apple strudel, and I would have to admit it is pretty close.
