Lillypilly Syzygium oleosum
APPEARANCE : Syzygium oleosum, common names include blue lilly pilly, Scented satinash, and blue cherry.Large shrub or small tree with rough, rusty brown bark in east coast rainforests from north Queensland to southern New South Wales. Ornamental & fast growing, glossy dark green foliage, leaves smell lemony when crushed and creamy-white flowers in Summer, tasty edible purplish-blue fruit in March/April makes good jam. Good windbreak or street tree specimen.
