APPEARANCE : Smilax glyciphylla, the sweet sarsaparilla, is a dioecious climber native to eastern Australia. It is widespread in rainforest, sclerophyll forest and woodland; mainly in coastal regions. Creeping smooth stemmed vine can run to a great extent along the ground or up a tree. Leaves can be chewed and have a liquorice taste (young red leaves are sweeter)
